Horse-drawn carriage rides were a highlight of the community's 2011 Christmas celebration.

On Dec. 8, residents joined together to celebrate the Christmas season Asbury~Solomons Island-style.

Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived via horse-drawn carriage and handed out candy canes to residents enjoying eggnog and freshly-roasted nuts. Students from Our Lady Star of the Sea serenaded partygoers with Christmas carols and then enjoyed a spirited reading of “Twas the Night Before Christmas” by resident Margaret Hayes. Guests then headed outside to enjoy carriage rides along the community’s waterfront drive, as luminaries added a beautiful glow to the skyline at dusk. "And we heard them exclaim ‘ere they drove out of site, Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.”
